- **Current official route — Philippines: other ordinary passports require an advance 9(a) visa** (Visa required)
  These foreign ordinary passports are outside the nationality-wide visa-free cohorts. The current DFA policy expressly classes other countries as visa-required nationals, requiring the appropriate advance visitor visa.
  - The ordinary visitor route is an advance Temporary Visitor 9(a) visa. The eVisa policy lists visitor categories and requirements, but does not publicly establish a nationality-wide electronic-issuance entitlement for every residual passport; this policy therefore remains visa_required, not evisa.
  - The official eVisa portal’s ability to issue an eVisa after its process is not treated as proof that every residual nationality has that electronic route. An online form or country checker alone is not an eVisa classification.
  - Passport validity, purpose, return/onward travel, accommodation, finances, clearance, fees, entries, duration, port, security, and admission are case-specific; eVisa issuance also does not guarantee admission.
  - Pre-arranged VUAP, cruise waiver, conditional third-country documents, Balikbayan/former-Filipino family arrangements, transit, crew, diplomatic/official/special documents, work, study, residence, and eTravel are not nationality-wide alternatives to this baseline.

## How to apply

Follow the current instructions on the official portal.

1. Confirm no visa-free or document-specific exemption applies, then choose the appropriate visitor category and follow the responsible Philippine Foreign Service Post’s process.
2. Provide the passport and the purpose-, itinerary-, financial-, accommodation-, and other documents the authority requests; the official policy says original documents can be required.
3. Obtain the required advance visa before travel and complete eTravel as the separate arrival/departure declaration; issuance does not guarantee admission.
