## Evidence timeline

- **February 5, 2026 — Brazil: electronic visa for air visitors** (eVisa)
  From 5 February 2026, Brazilian ordinary passport holders may use Mexico's electronic visitor-visa route for a non-remunerated stay of less than 180 days when entering exclusively by air.
  - Mexico's Rio consular guidance calls this route a visa electrónica. It is normalized as eVisa rather than ETA because approval produces a visa and the official application charges a visa fee.
  - The route is exclusively by air, for fewer than 180 days and without remunerated activities. It is valid for one entry; the Rio source states 180 days' authorization validity.
  - A Brazilian transit traveller using this route must obtain a new electronic visa each time the traveller disembarks at a Mexican airport.
  - A residence visa, multiple-entry visa, ten-year visa, land or sea entry, remunerated activity, or other purpose requires the applicable separate Mexican process.
  - Electronic authorization does not guarantee admission; Mexican migration authorities decide admission and the authorized visitor period at the point of entry.

## How to apply

Follow the current instructions on the official portal.

1. Complete the electronic visa form using the details from the valid Brazilian passport.
2. Upload the required face photograph and passport data-page image, then pay the application fee.
3. Receive the electronic visa before travel and present it with the same passport for the air journey and migration inspection.
