- **Current official route — Mongolia: residual ordinary passports require an advance tourist visa** (Visa required)
  Mongolia's Foreign Ministry directs foreign nationals outside its named eVisa cohort to apply at the nearest Mongolian embassy. These 24 ordinary passports are also outside the current ordinary-passport exemption and border-tourist cohorts, so their unconditional short-visitor route requires advance mission issuance.
  - Applies to standard ordinary passports used for a short tourist visit; work, study, residence, transit, diplomatic, official, service and other special-document routes remain outside scope.
  - Cuba, Azerbaijan, North Korea and Turkmenistan have special-passport exemptions in the current schedule, but those agreements do not exempt the standard ordinary passports classified here.
  - The applicant submits the visa application and printed supporting documents at a Mongolian diplomatic mission. The normal stated processing time is three working days, but some applications may take five to ten working days.
  - A regular tourist visa normally permits up to 30 days. The passport must be valid for at least six months, additional evidence may be requested and final admission remains discretionary.
