## Evidence timeline

- **Current official route — South Sudan: four MFA-listed visa-exempt nationalities** (Visa-free)
MFA’s current country-by-country visa-eligibility table marks Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda “EXEMPTED” with zero quoted entry-visa fees. It directly supports a nationality-wide visa exemption for the listed ordinary-passport short visitor cohort, rather than a visa on arrival or electronic authorization.
  - The published table does not state a duration, an effective date, passport-type qualifications, permitted purpose or entry-point limitations. This normalization is limited to its explicit country-level “EXEMPTED” rows and remains subject to ordinary border, health, security, admissibility and documentary checks.
  - MFA says bilateral relations can affect visa treatment. Its general page separately discusses visas on arrival, embassy processing, transit visas, and diplomatic, official and service passports; none is folded into this ordinary-passport visitor exemption.
  - The official eVisa portal provides a downloadable electronically issued visa for approved applicants. It is not an ETA, and this policy does not require it for the four explicitly exempt nationalities.
  - The Trade Information Hub’s statement that “most” travellers can obtain a visa on arrival has no nationality schedule. It does not establish an arrival-visa complement or alter the explicit MFA exemptions.
  - Work, residence, long stays, transit, invitation or entry-permit cases, foreign South Sudanese travelling on foreign passports, diplomatic, official, service, refugee, alien and other special documents are outside this policy.
