## Evidence timeline

- **Current official route — Named ordinary passports: advance Dominican tourist visa** (Visa required)
  DGII expressly says tourists from these named countries cannot enter with a Tourist Card and must obtain a visa at a Dominican diplomatic mission. The MIREX service describes the corresponding consular tourist-visa route.
  - This is the ordinary-passport tourist baseline only. DGII says the named nationalities must request a visa at a Dominican diplomatic mission; MIREX describes a consular tourism visa, not an eVisa or visa on arrival.
  - MIREX states that Decree 691-07 lets a traveller with permanent residence or a valid multiple-entry visa for the United States, Schengen/EU area, Canada, or the United Kingdom enter for tourism with a Tourist Card. That third-country-document exception does not make any listed passport nationality unconditionally visa-free.
  - The consular tourism visa is stated as 60 days and one entry, or 60 days and two entries for the multiple variant; applications, passport validity, financial evidence, purpose, security screening and final admission remain required.
  - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Montenegro and Papua New Guinea are excluded because the live MIREX ordinary-passport selector contradicts this DGII list without a reconciled current instrument. Mongolia and Morocco are excluded because separately documented ordinary-passport visa waivers control.
  - This policy does not establish work, business, study, residence, transit, crew, diplomatic, official, service, border-card, refugee, stateless, emergency, or other special-document treatment.

## How to apply

MIREX states a 10-to-20-business-day response time for the visa service.

1. Contact the Dominican embassy or consulate serving the applicant's residence or designated jurisdiction.
2. Submit the tourism-visa application, valid passport and the stated supporting evidence to the competent consular service.
3. Travel only after the visa is issued and complete the separate DGM e-Ticket declaration.
