- **Current official route — Italian ordinary passports: federal Iraq electronic visitor visa** (eVisa)
Current Italian MFA guidance requires ordinary EU passports, including Italian ordinary passports, to obtain the federal-Iraq visitor visa exclusively through its designated portal.
  - This covers federal Iraq, excluding the Kurdistan Region. Since 2 March 2025, ordinary passport holders of EU countries obtain the visa exclusively through the designated portal, not at an airport.
  - Work, residence, transit, special documents, carrier controls and final admission remain separate.
