- **Current official route — EU citizens: treaty short-stay visa-free travel** (Visa-free)
  The in-force EU–Tonga agreement gives the named EU-nationality cohort visa-free short stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The treaty’s Member State definition excludes Ireland and the United Kingdom; Croatia is included.
  - The agreement applies to citizens travelling for a maximum 90 days in any 180-day period and excludes remunerated activity.
  - The treaty rule takes precedence over the Revenue and Embassy’s more general arrival-visitor wording for these mapped EU citizens.
