# Kazakhstan passport to Uganda: eVisa

This page concerns ordinary short visits unless an official source states otherwise. Authorities apply the current rule, and individual circumstances can change the applicable treatment.

## Evidence timeline

- **Current official route — Other foreign ordinary passports: advance electronic visitor visa** (eVisa)
  The live complete no-visa schedule identifies the ordinary foreign passports that do not need a visa. For the remaining ordinary foreign passports, NCIC's online process requires a Travel Authorization/Visa Approval Letter before travel and does not issue normal visas on arrival; the complement is normalized as evisa.
  - Apply through visas.immigration.go.ug and obtain the Travel Authorization/Visa Approval Letter before boarding. The 2021 NCIC notice says there are no normal visas issued on arrival; the current Abuja High Commission page says all visa applications use the same electronic system. This is evisa rather than eta or visa_on_arrival.
  - The changed 2021 nationality list is not used to construct this complement: current scope comes from the live 40-country NCIC schedule, while the 2021 notice only corroborates the online approval and no-visa-on-arrival process.
  - The ordinary/tourist single-entry route covers tourism, medical treatment and family visits; it may be granted up to three months. The published fee is USD 50, approval is valid 90 days, and the initial period may be extended by another 60 days in two intervals.
  - Use a passport valid at least six months and upload the passport biodata page, itinerary/tour plan, recent photo and accommodation evidence; purpose-specific invitations/status documents and yellow-fever evidence may be required.
  - Carry the approval letter, passport, payment evidence and uploaded documents to border control for biometric capture. Approval does not guarantee admission; immigration decides at entry.
  - Transit is a separate online visa capped at seven days and non-extendable. The East African Tourist Visa and employment, residence, student, dependant and special passes are distinct routes.
  - This complement excludes named nationality exemptions, qualifying CTDs, EAC identity-card/e-passport or laissez-passer travel, EAC-resident InterState Passes, diplomatic/official passports, international-organization laissez-passers, British military personnel and specifically authorized temporary operational exceptions.

## How to apply

NCIC's online-visa notice says decisions take 2–3 days and advises applying at least ten days before travel; Kigali High Commission says typically 2–3 working days and recommends five working days.

1. Start a Visa application on the official system and select the ordinary/tourist category and purpose.
2. Complete the form, upload the passport, photo and purpose-specific documents, and make required payment.
3. Receive the Travel Authorization/Visa Approval Letter and carry it with the submitted evidence to border control.
