- **Current official route — Foreign EAC ordinary passports: Burundi visa-free short-visitor entry** (Visa-free)
  Current EAC sources identify the seven other Partner States and state that all Partner States implement visa-free entry for Partner-State citizens. This maps the seven foreign EAC passport codes to Burundi visa-free entry. Burundi Tourism separately says all foreigners need a visa except EAC citizens, but its parenthetical list omits Somalia; the current EAC sources control that new Partner-State mapping.
  - Applies only to citizens holding ordinary passports of the seven other current EAC Partner States: Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
  - The EAC free-movement guarantee remains subject to host-State public-policy, public-security, public-health, border-document and individual-admissibility controls; it is not a work, residence, refugee, diplomatic, official, service, crew or special-document classification.
  - CGM describes a free EAC access visa issued for up to six months and says it does not grant a right to work. This post-entry administrative status does not turn the entry rule into a visa-on-arrival requirement.
  - Burundi Tourism’s current page calls EAC the exception but names only Kenya, Uganda, DRC, Rwanda, Tanzania and South Sudan. Somalia is retained under the current EAC Partner-State and all-Partner-State implementation evidence; this source discrepancy should be rechecked.
