## Evidence timeline

- **Current official route — Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and United States ordinary passports: visa exemption** (Visa-free)
Palau expressly exempts citizens of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the United States from a visa to visit, work, or reside, subject to Palauan law.
  - The authority states that this exemption is effective from 2 November 2022 and allows visit, work, or residence only in accordance with Palauan law. It is not a passport-wide grant of work authorisation independent of those laws.
  - The traveller needs a passport valid at least six months, must state the purpose of visit, and is not required to hold an onward ticket under this specific route.
  - This does not establish treatment of U.S. military personnel, diplomatic missions, dependants, special travel documents, or non-citizen residents; those are separate status-specific rules.
  - All arriving passengers must have a valid passport or travel document, submit the Palau Entry Form no more than 72 hours before departure, and present its QR code at check-in and arrival.
