- **October 1, 2012 — EU–Brazil short-stay visa waiver entered into force** (Visa-free)
  The reciprocal agreement permits short visa-free stays for citizens of Brazil and European Union member states.

- **Current official route — QGRV-listed ordinary passports: VIVIS visa exemption** (Visa-free)
  For these ordinary national passports, the QGRV VIVIS column records a visa dispensation for a short visitor stay. China is handled by the later country-specific MRE update.
  - The QGRV legend limits this policy to the VIVIS column for holders of ordinary passports. PADIP (diplomatic) and PASOF (official or service) columns are separate and are not normalized here.
  - The precise dispensation period is the numbered VIVIS entry and applicable footnote in the QGRV, rather than a single uniform duration; the table uses 30-, 60-, 90-, 180-, and other specified periods.
  - A QGRV # marker permits entry with a civil identity card for the marked nationality. This passport classification neither requires nor generalizes that separate identity-card facility.
  - This policy does not cover a laissez-passer, refugee or alien travel document, diplomatic, official, service, public-affairs, temporary, or other special passport/document.
  - Visa dispensation is not a residence authorization and does not authorize paid work. VIVIS is limited to visitor purposes; a different purpose, a longer stay, or residence requires the applicable immigration route.
  - Admission and the authorized stay remain subject to Brazilian border control and all current entry requirements. Any extension is a separate Polícia Federal process and depends on the applicable QGRV reciprocity rule.
