## Evidence timeline

- **Current official route — Early United Kingdom ETA nationalities** (ETA)
  These Gulf passport holders require an ETA for qualifying short visitor travel to the United Kingdom.
  - Qatar has required ETA for travel from 15 November 2023; the other listed nationalities from 22 February 2024.
  - The route covers qualifying visitor stays up to six months and does not itself grant entry.
  - Valid UK permission, specified British statuses, and lawful Irish residence with Common Travel Area travel can remove the ETA requirement.
  - Airside transit and travel through border control have separate rules.
