  These ordinary national passport holders must obtain a short-stay C visa before travelling to Ireland for a visitor stay.
  - This policy does not classify refugee, stateless, diplomatic, official, service, United Nations, or special travel documents.
  - A short-stay C visa covers qualifying visits up to 90 days but permits travel rather than guaranteeing entry or duration.
  - Ireland states that its online AVATS form is an application system and that it does not issue eVisas.
  - Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia have been visa-required since 15 June 2026.

## How to apply

Immigration Service Delivery says processing is generally about eight weeks after documents are received, but varies.

1. Confirm that no narrow document-, residence-, or UK-visa exception applies.
2. Create a Short Stay C visitor application in AVATS.
3. Submit the signed summary, passport, and supporting documents to the office identified by AVATS.
