## Evidence timeline

- **Current official route — Brunei: Category D2 ordinary-passport 30-day visa waiver** (Visa-free)
The live MFA country schedule assigns these ordinary passports to Category D2, whose conditions expressly waive a visa for up to 30 days.
  - The D2 waiver is up to 30 days. A visa application is required for a longer stay and for business visits; no work, residence, professional visit or extension right is established.
  - The statutory Schedule 2 exemption is limited to entry by air through Brunei International Airport and requires the Controller to be satisfied of confirmed return or outward passage. This policy preserves that route and onward-travel condition.
  - E-Arrival Card registration is an arrival declaration, not an ETA or visa authorization; the Immigration guidance separately calls for a visa when applicable.
  - A recognised passport with at least six months’ validity, ordinary admission rules and individual officer assessment apply. Diplomatic, official, service and special-document arrangements are excluded.
