  Korea’s current Foreign Ministry guidance directly says ordinary passports are not visa-free and that the Turkmen visa is affixed at the airport when the traveller carries the required Migration-approved official invitation.
  - Applies to a South Korean citizen travelling on an ordinary passport for a short visit.
  - Before travel, obtain an official invitation approved by the State Migration Service; the guidance warns that boarding is unavailable without it.
  - The visa itself is affixed on arrival at a Turkmen airport. Tourist invitations are requested through a local travel agency; land-border issuance, work, residence, special documents, restricted areas and final admission remain outside scope.
