## Evidence timeline

- **Current official route — Listed passports qualify for Australia's ETA** (ETA)
  These passport holders can use the Electronic Travel Authority subclass 601 for qualifying visitor travel.
  - The traveller must hold a valid eligible passport and be outside Australia when applying and when the ETA is granted.
  - Taiwan official and diplomatic passports are excluded; British document status and other non-citizen documents have separate conditions.
  - Visitor stays are generally limited to three months per entry during the ETA's 12-month validity.
  - Criminal history can require a Visitor visa subclass 600 instead, and grant does not guarantee entry.

2. Apply from outside Australia using the Australian ETA app.
