  - Turkish MFA's live country table requires a visa. The Gambia's current government guidance requires visa-subject visitors to use a Gambian diplomatic mission in their country of origin and lists its current embassy in Ankara.
  - A Turkish Embassy notice dated 5 August 2020 independently directs non-diplomatic Turkish citizens to that Ankara mission. It is supporting route history rather than the currentness anchor.
  - The generic airport exception applies only where no Gambian diplomatic representative exists and therefore does not replace the Ankara advance route.
