- **Current official route — Listed ordinary passports: Faroe Islands visitor visa required** (Visa required)
  These passports are in Denmark's current visa-required nationality schedule without an applicable ordinary-passport exemption and need a visa valid for the Faroe Islands before a short visit.
  - The visa sticker must expressly be valid for the Faroe Islands. A Danish/Schengen visa alone does not authorize entry to the Faroe Islands; the standard application and issue route is through a Danish diplomatic mission or Danish representation abroad.
  - A territorial Faroe Islands visa can authorize a stay of up to 90 days. That territorial-visa maximum is distinct from the combined visa-free 90-days-in-180 calculation.
  - Online filing does not itself establish an eVisa. An individual border visa may exceptionally be issued under the applicable rules; it does not establish a passport-wide visa-on-arrival route.
  - A physical residence permit or EU free-movement residence card issued by Denmark, another EU country or another Schengen country is a separate document-conditioned no-visa route. A C or D visa from another Schengen country alone is insufficient unless territorially endorsed; exceptional entry-permit routes do not alter this passport baseline.
  - Diplomatic, service, official, special, residence, work, transit, refugee and other travel-document exceptions are outside this ordinary-passport policy; visa issuance and final admission remain discretionary.
