  For this complete African Union ordinary-passport cohort outside ECOWAS and Ghanaian citizenship, the live official checker returns an advance Electronic Travel Authorization rather than visa-free admission or a visa on arrival.
  - The live checker labels this cohort African Union, requires ETA before travel, and returns 30 days, single entry and no fee. It is not normalized as visa-free merely because the May 2026 announcement abolishes visa fees for African passports.
  - The April MFA waiver table pre-dates the May eVisa launch and lists several of these passports as visa-free; the current operational checker is followed for the required authorization. This dated inter-source discrepancy is a material recheck risk.
  - The portal's tourist eVisa requirements require a passport valid six months beyond intended stay; yellow-fever evidence, itinerary/accommodation, purpose, security and admission requirements remain applicable.
