Bulgarian ordinary passports: Syria land-border arrival visa

Bulgaria’s current Foreign Ministry guidance directly states that Bulgarian citizens travelling on regular passports may obtain a Syrian visa upon entry through a land border.

    • Applies to a Bulgarian citizen travelling on a regular passport for an ordinary short visit.
    • The arrival-issued route is limited to entry through a Syrian land border; it does not establish visa issuance at an airport or every entry point.
    • The same guidance permits advance application at the Syrian Embassy in Sofia and says passports bearing evidence of a visit to Israel are not accepted; work, residence, special documents, security controls and final admission remain outside scope.
