How the numbers work.

MultiPass Rank is designed to answer one practical question: how many destinations can you reach without obtaining a government-approved visa before departure?

Individual passport score

A destination adds one point when it is visa-free, offers a visa on arrival, or requires only an electronic travel authorisation (ETA). eVisas and traditional visas require approval before travel, while entry restrictions provide no ordinary visitor route, so none adds a point. Passports with the same score share a rank. The next lower score receives the next consecutive rank, so ranks remain dense rather than skipping numbers.

Combined passport score

For each destination, the calculator keeps the easiest access available across every passport in a set. Citizenship is treated as the strongest access, followed by visa-free, ETA, visa on arrival, eVisa, visa required, and entry restricted. A restriction is used only when current official evidence shows that ordinary visitor entry is prohibited or suspended.

A combined result is called a rank equivalent. It shows where the combined score would sit among current individual passport scores; it is not an official passport rank.

Comparison table

Every row represents a destination and every column represents one passport set. “Differences only” hides a row only when all visible sets resolve to the same best access category. The passport responsible for the best access remains visible in each cell.

Freshness and limitations

Data is normalized server-side and published as complete snapshots. A failed or incomplete refresh never replaces the last valid snapshot. Visa requirements can still change faster than any index, and individual circumstances may affect entry. Always confirm requirements with the destination’s official authorities before making travel arrangements.
