Chinese ordinary passports: Afghanistan advance visa
China’s current consular guidance identifies an advance Afghan Embassy visa for Chinese ordinary-passport visitors and separately limits the bilateral waiver to diplomatic passports.
- Applies to a Chinese citizen using an ordinary passport; the cited bilateral visa waiver is limited to diplomatic passports.
- The Afghan Embassy in China normally issues a single-entry visa permitting a stay of up to 30 days after the applicant supplies the required passport, identity, application and Afghan invitation documents.
- A visa marked AIR ONLY permits entry and exit only through airports under the 15 May 2025 rule.
- Passport validity, purpose permissions, mission recognition, registration, carrier checks and final admission remain separate.
