    Australian citizens do not need a visa or NZeTA

    Australian citizens travelling on an Australian passport normally receive an Australian Resident Visa on arrival without an NZeTA.

    • The traveller must be an Australian citizen travelling on an Australian passport.
    • Entry and character requirements still apply.
    • Australian permanent residence without Australian citizenship is a separate status-based NZeTA class.
