    Listed ordinary passports are exempt for short stays

    Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists these ordinary-passport nationalities for short-stay visa exemption.

    • Landing permission is normally 90 days and does not permit remunerative activity.
    • Austria, Germany, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Mexico, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom have arrangements allowing an extension up to six months.
    • Transit, work, residence, and special travel-document treatment remain outside this ordinary short-stay policy.
