Bangladesh: named ordinary-passport visitor visa on arrival

Current Bangladesh MFA guidance expressly identifies this named nationality cohort as eligible to seek a visitor visa on arrival for official duty, business, investment or tourism, subject to document verification and officer satisfaction.

    • This is a conditional visa-on-arrival route, not visa-free entry. The expressly stated purposes are official duty, business, investment and tourism; for short tourism the guidance calls for hotel booking or personal invitation and a return ticket.
    • The same guidance limits its separate defence and security-force route to travellers with prior Ministry of Home Affairs clearance; that purpose-specific condition does not broaden ordinary tourist access.
    • The immigration officer at an airport or land port must examine the documents and be satisfied. The guidance states a maximum 30-day, single-entry visa; extension is only under existing visa policy.
    • Published checklist conditions include a valid passport, USD 500 (cash or card) except government duty, return ticket, supporting documents, and cash payment in USD/GBP/EUR. The stated USD 50 fee is subject to reciprocity/exempt-fee arrangements.
    • The portal’s online form must be printed and taken with supporting documents to a visa office or mission; it is not evidence of an electronically issued visa and is not normalized as eVisa or ETA.
    • NVR, Bangladeshi-origin, spouse/child, investor recommendation, UN/mission staff, diplomatic/official/service, seaman/UN travel document, residence, transit and third-country/no-mission pathways are document-, origin-, purpose-, route- or residence-conditioned and are deliberately excluded from this nationality-only policy.
