Bermuda: unlisted nationals visa-free for bona fide short visits
Section 28 of the Bermuda Immigration and Protection Act removes the need for specific permission for a bona fide visitor who fulfils its conditions. Order No. 2 of 2025 supplies the exhaustive nationality exception by prohibiting only the named Schedule nationals. The resulting unlisted ordinary-passport baseline is visa-free, not an ETA, eVisa or visa-on-arrival route.
- This is limited to a bona fide ordinary-passport short visitor whose nationality is not in the current Order No. 2 Schedule; it does not cover special passports, residence, work, study, crew, transit, or individual permission routes.
- Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR passport rows follow the Order's express asterisk incorporation: the current UK Immigration Rules exempt PRC nationals holding those specific passports from the visa-national rule.
- At landing and throughout the visit, the visitor must not be an exceptionable person and must hold a passenger ticket for departure to a country where the visitor has a right of entry.
- The unrestricted period is six months or 180 days, whichever is greater, within a 12-month period, but the Minister may shorten or end it by written notice.
- This statutory exemption from specific permission does not guarantee admission; other Immigration Act requirements and final border assessment remain applicable.
