Some visa-required nationalities have a conditional eTA route
These nationalities remain visitor-visa-required unless they meet every condition for Canada's eTA-X air-travel route.
- The traveller must fly to or transit through a Canadian airport for a temporary stay and hold a valid passport.
- The traveller must have held a Canadian visitor visa in the previous 10 years or hold a valid United States nonimmigrant visa when applying.
- A visitor visa is required if any condition is unmet or for arrival by land or sea.
