Hong Kong and Macao ordinary passports: temporary visa-free visitor waiver

The current MFA Group IV schedule directly grants holders of ordinary passports issued by Hong Kong and Macao SAR governments a temporary visitor waiver.

    • The waiver is limited to three entries during the stated period and up to 30 days on each entry. A valid visa is required for a fourth entry or after expiry.
    • This applies only to ordinary passports issued by the Hong Kong or Macao SAR governments; it is not transferred to mainland Chinese passports, other PRC documents, residence, work, study, special documents, citizenship, or final admission.

  5. Current official routeCitizenship

    Azerbaijani citizens’ entry right

The Migration Code implements an Azerbaijani citizen's entry right through that citizen's Azerbaijani passport.

    • This citizenship policy does not determine treatment of a foreign passport held by a dual national.
    • General individual border restrictions or document issues are not represented by passport-nationality status.

  6. Current official routeeVisa

    ASAN Visa eligible ordinary-passport nationalities

The live ASAN Visa eligibility schedule identifies these nationalities for electronically issued single-entry visitor eVisas.

    • The eVisa is electronically issued after ASAN Visa processing; the MFA online application-form portal for consular visas is not itself eVisa issuance.
    • A standard eVisa is issued within three working days and an urgent eVisa within three hours; it is single-entry, valid for 90 days, and permits a stay of up to 30 days.
    • The travel document must remain valid for at least three months after eVisa expiry; the approved eVisa must be printed and presented at the border.
    • The eVisa does not authorize paid work; media activity needs MFA accreditation. Stays over 15 days require registration.
    • The ASAN schedule's temporary visa-free markings take precedence for the separately dated waiver policies, so those nationalities are excluded here.

Taiwan ordinary passports: named electronic visitor visas

Taiwan MOFA BOCA's current outbound schedule identifies these destinations' electronic-visa routes for Taiwanese passport holders; Ecuador separately confirms pre-departure electronic issuance.

    • EC requires Taiwanese travellers to complete the online electronic-visa application before travel after Ecuador ended the previous visa-free treatment.
    • SY and TR are listed by BOCA for ordinary ROC passports with the stated visitor-purpose electronic-visa routes; each destination's current duration, purpose, documentation and border rules remain controlling.
    • This records electronic issuance, not merely online filing. It excludes work, residence, transit-only facilities, special documents, carrier checks and final-admission decisions.

  8. Current official routeVisa-free

    Current reciprocal ordinary-passport visa-free admission

The current MFA Group II schedule directly names these passports for visa-free visitor entry, including regular/ordinary passports where specified.

    • This is an ordinary-passport short-visitor baseline. Group II lists 90-day stays for all named codes except Qatar (30 days), China (30 days per entry and 90 days per 180), and Russia (90 days in a calendar year).
    • The Group II regime is not a work, study, long-stay, special-document, citizenship, final-admission, or entry-after-an-applicable restriction determination. The MFA expressly requires Qatar work or study visitors, and Maldives visitors exceeding 90 days or working/studying/doing business, to obtain a visa in advance.
    18 passport nationalities covered

United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Serbia, Albania, Georgia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Qatar, Türkiye, Maldives, China, Belarus, Suriname, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan

  9. Current official routeVisa required

Other recognized ordinary passports: consular advance visitor visa

These codes have no current MFA ordinary-passport visa-free rule or ASAN eVisa listing. The MFA's current default requires an entry visa and directs non-eVisa applicants to a consular single-entry application.

    • This policy is for a recognized ordinary passport used for tourism or personal travel. The current MFA describes tourism and personal travel as ordinary entry-visa purposes and requires pre-travel consular documents; it is not an eVisa conclusion from the MFA application portal.
    • ASAN eVisa eligibility is nationality-list limited. Airport visa issuance, third-country residence permits, direct-flight privileges, emergencies, Formula 1/event documents, transit, diplomatic, service, special, refugee, stateless and other travel-document routes are conditional and excluded.
    • Individual entry restrictions, passport validity, invitation/document requirements, carrier checks and final border admission remain applicable.
