One group agreement or destination policy can support many passport relationships. Dates are recorded only when an official source establishes them.

Fijian nationals: outside foreign visitor visa scope

Fiji Immigration says Fijian passport holders do not need a visa to enter Fiji; they are outside the foreign ordinary-passport visitor classification.

    • This citizenship classification does not establish the document requirements for a particular Fijian national, dual national, carrier, or border route.
    • It does not determine treatment when a dual Fijian national presents another country's ordinary passport.

Listed ordinary passports: Fiji visa exemption with Visitor Permit on arrival

Holders of the listed ordinary national passports are exempt from obtaining a Fiji visa before travel and may be issued a Visitor Permit on immigration clearance if entry requirements are met.

    • Visa exemption is not a visa on arrival. Fiji Immigration calls the document issued at immigration clearance a Visitor Permit; it is issued on arrival only if entry requirements are met.
    • For the ordinary visitor route, Fiji Immigration describes holiday, recreational activity, visiting relatives or friends, conferences or meetings, and onward transit among the stated visitor purposes. A Visitor Permit cannot be used to seek employment or work.
    • The Visitor Permit period may range from several days up to four months. A holiday visitor may seek one extension of up to two months before expiry; the stated exceptions to extension include business visitor permits and students or relatives on 30-day visitor permits.
    • At clearance, travellers must meet current requirements including a valid foreign passport, return ticket, completed Arrival Card, confirmed Fiji address, sufficient funds, and any required fees. Fiji immigration officers retain admission and permit-period discretion.
    • Medical-treatment visitors and yacht owners or carrier crew must apply for their permits before arrival. This policy does not establish residence, employment, diplomatic, official, special-document, refugee, or alien-travel-document treatment.
    • Transit is separate: Fiji Immigration says a traveller transiting Fiji to another destination within 72 hours after entry needs a transit visa before arrival, with onward ticket and final-destination approval evidence.

Unlisted ordinary passports: Fiji pre-entry visa required

Fiji Immigration's complete-list default requires these unlisted ordinary national passport holders to obtain a Fiji visa before travelling; a Visitor Permit may then be issued at arrival if entry requirements are met.

    • The official default is supported by Fiji Immigration's complete visa-exempt list and its express statement that all countries not on that list must apply for a visa. The visa must be approved before travel; it is a pre-entry authority, not a guarantee of admission.
    • Non-exempt applicants need the relevant visa before purchasing a ticket and boarding. Fiji Immigration lists sufficient funds, confirmed return ticket and accommodation among current requirements, and may require further verification documents.
    • A visitor permit on arrival remains distinct from the required visa and is issued only if entry requirements are satisfied. Visitor employment is prohibited.
    • Transit, medical treatment, yacht ownership, carrier crew, joining a vessel, residence, work, diplomatic, official, refugee, alien, emergency, and other special-document situations require their applicable separate process. For transit applications, Fiji Immigration requires proof of visa or permit for the final destination.
    • This policy does not establish an electronic visa, visa on arrival, or a nationality-wide exemption based on a third-country visa or residence document.
