Current MFA nationality schedule: visa-free short visitors
The current MFA diplomatic-post schedule expressly lists these nationalities as visa-exempt. China is added separately only because a current mutual ordinary-passport agreement expressly establishes its exemption.
- The MFA page says the listed nationalities may stay visa-free for one year. China is limited by its mutual ordinary-passport agreement to a single stay of up to 30 days and an aggregate 90 days in 180 days.
- This is only the ordinary short-visitor nationality baseline. It does not establish work, residence, study, journalism, diplomatic, official, service, crew, transit, refugee, stateless, special travel-document, dual-nationality, or purpose-specific treatment.
- A valid third-country visa or residence permit can create a separate 90-in-180 visa-free route under Ordinance No. 256; that document/status exception is not a passport-wide classification.
- The Law permits refusal for missing documents, bans, false data, lack of insurance or funds, security, public-order or foreign-policy grounds. Border admission remains case-specific.
- Foreign citizens and stateless persons may enter Abkhazia only via Zugdidi and the Tskhinvali region only via Gori; other directions are prohibited. This territorial rule is not nationality-specific.
