    Nordic nationals: permit-free entry, residence and work

    Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish nationals may enter, reside and work in Greenland without a permit; this records their ordinary-passport short-visitor outcome as visa-free.

    • The territory-specific source states that Nordic nationals can enter, reside and work without a permit. This does not classify any pair as citizenship because the catalog has no Greenland passport issuer code.
    • Final identity, security, sanctions and border-control checks remain applicable.

    Listed ordinary passports: visa-free visitor entry

    These listed passport holders may enter Denmark visa-free and therefore, under the current Danish territorial rule, may enter Greenland visa-free for a short visit.

    • Visa-free travel is limited to a maximum combined 90 days in any 180-day period in the Schengen region, Greenland and the Faroe Islands, subject to the stated special Danish calculations for specified nationalities.
    • A valid travel document, documented purpose and sufficient means are required; refusal, SIS, expulsion, UN/EU sanctions and final border-admission checks apply.
    • This policy does not establish work, residence, diplomatic, service, special, emergency, refugee, crew or other-document treatment.

    The Danish official register exempts these named nationalities only when the stated biometric-passport condition is met; the current territorial rule carries that visa-free result to Greenland.

    • A biometric ordinary passport is required. The register gives issue-date information for Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine; Georgia's ordinary passports issued from 28 July 2014 are biometric.
    • The same combined 90-days-in-180 visa-free maximum, travel-document, purpose, means, sanctions and final-admission conditions apply.

    Hong Kong, Macao and qualifying Taiwan passports: visa-free visitor entry

    The Danish register's passport-specific exemptions carry to Greenland under the current territorial entry rule.

    • Hong Kong requires an HKSAR passport and Macao requires a Macao SAR passport. Taiwan requires the stated identity-card number, and older Republic of China passports also require stated Taiwan birthplace and identity-card number.
    • The policy is visa-free only under the stated document qualifications and ordinary short-visitor conditions; it does not infer a nationality or citizenship classification from a catalog code.

    Listed ordinary passports: Greenland visitor visa required

    These passports are in Denmark's current visa-required nationality schedule without an applicable ordinary-passport exemption and need a visa valid for Greenland before a short visit.

    • The visa sticker must expressly be valid for Greenland. A Danish/Schengen visa alone does not authorize entry to Greenland; the standard application and issue route is through a Danish diplomatic mission or Danish representation abroad.
    • A territorial Greenland visa can authorize a stay of up to 90 days. That territorial-visa maximum is distinct from the combined visa-free 90-days-in-180 calculation.
    • Online filing does not itself establish an eVisa. An individual border visa may exceptionally be issued under the applicable rules; it does not establish a passport-wide visa-on-arrival route.
    • A physical residence permit or EU free-movement residence card issued by Denmark, another EU country or another Schengen country is a separate document-conditioned no-visa route. A C or D visa from another Schengen country alone is insufficient unless territorially endorsed; exceptional entry-permit routes do not alter this passport baseline.
    • Diplomatic, service, official, special, residence, work, transit, refugee and other travel-document exceptions are outside this ordinary-passport policy; visa issuance and final admission remain discretionary.
