How this access rule is documented

  1. Visa-free

EU Member State ordinary passports: short-stay visa waiver

The operative EU–FSM agreement directly waives visas for citizens of the 26 listed EU Member States holding valid ordinary passports for short stays.

    • The agreement defines its Member-State scope as EU Member States other than the United Kingdom and Ireland; it directly covers ordinary passports and is not extended here to EFTA, United Kingdom, Irish or other passports.
    • The treaty waiver is for up to 90 days in any 180-day period and does not apply to travel for a paid activity.
    • The waiver preserves FSM entry and short-stay conditions and individual refusal of entry. It does not decide employment, residence, study, transit, crew, diplomatic, official, service, special-document or case-specific treatment.
  2. Visa-free

Covered EU ordinary passports gained Micronesia short-stay access

The reciprocal EU–Micronesia agreement is provisionally applied from 2016-09-20; no final entry-into-force notice was located in this review.

    • The waiver is limited to valid ordinary passports and short stays of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period.
    • Paid activity is excluded, and ordinary entry conditions and refusal powers continue to apply.
    • Ireland is outside the agreement.
