How this access rule is documented

  1. Current official routeVisa required

Jordan nationalities requiring prior visa approval

The Ministry of Interior expressly classifies these 53 nationalities as restricted and requiring prior approval before travel to Jordan.

    • The Ministry expressly treats this group as requiring prior approval. Its E-services manual distinguishes their other visa applications from the electronic-visa route for nationalities that do not require prior approval; this is therefore visa_required, not evisa.
    • The Ministry's schedule is split into 14 Asian, 37 African and two South American nationalities. Its spellings are normalized to the catalog codes without expanding the list.
    • All travel-pass documents issued by any country are treated as restricted except a travel pass issued by Vatican City; that document rule is not generalized to ordinary Vatican passports.
    • An application must be submitted from outside Jordan. The Ministry may require an in-person interview at a Jordanian embassy, and its portal supports electronic submission, status inquiry and payment.
    • This policy does not establish duration, entries, extension, fee, sponsor or guarantee requirements, work, study, transit, residence, diplomatic, official, service, emergency, refugee, stateless or other special-document treatment.
    • Approval does not itself guarantee admission. Passport validity, purpose, accommodation, funds, onward travel, health, public-order, security and individual admissibility requirements remain applicable.
