Maldives: foreign ordinary passports with tourist visa on arrival
Maldives Immigration grants the tourist visa on arrival to foreign tourists without visa pre-approval, subject to the separate Israeli-passport prohibition.
- Applies only to foreign ordinary passports for tourism/short visitor travel. Maldives Immigration says tourist visas are granted on arrival and tourists do not require visa pre-approval.
- A Traveller Declaration is mandatory within 96 hours before the arriving flight and is a free self-declaration. It is not an ETA or eVisa and does not replace arrival issuance.
- Arrival requires an MRZ passport or travel document with at least one month validity (no extended-validity passports), a complete itinerary with confirmed return journey, prepaid registered accommodation and sufficient funds, or a pre-approved Maldives Immigration sponsorship visa; onward-entry requirements and applicable yellow-fever certification also apply.
- Immigration officers determine admissibility at the port of entry. The reviewed current tourist-visa page does not state a fixed initial tourist-visa duration, so this candidate does not infer one.
- Does not classify residence, work, business, meeting/conference, dependent, marriage, transit without clearing arrival immigration, crew, diplomatic, official, service, refugee, stateless, emergency or other special-document cases.
