How this access rule is documented

  1. Visa-free

Covered EU ordinary passports gained Peru short-stay access

Citizens of the covered EU Member States holding valid ordinary passports may enter Peru without a visa for short stays.

    • The agreement was provisionally applied from 15 March 2016 and entered into force on 1 November 2016.
    • Paid activity is excluded; applicable EU, Member State, and Peruvian rules continue to govern it.
    • The maximum stay is 90 days in any moving 180-day period.
    • Ireland is outside the agreement.
  2. Current official routeVisa-free

Peru: named ordinary passports visa-free for tourist entry

The current Foreign Ministry ordinary-passport table marks these nationalities as exempt (Sí) from the tourist visa requirement. This is visa-free entry, not an eVisa, visa on arrival, transit waiver or document-only route.

    • The policy is limited to the table's tourist column and ordinary passports; it does not classify transit, business, study, employment, residence, diplomatic, official, service, special, identity-card or other-document routes.
    • The table assigns nationality-specific stay limits and extension rules. No uniform duration, extension, entry count, fee, port, health, funds, onward-travel or admission condition is inferred.
    • Foreign visitors remain subject to migration control and the corresponding temporary immigration category; a visa exemption does not guarantee admission.
