Japanese ordinary passports: Turkmenistan airport arrival visa

Turkmenistan’s current Embassy in Japan guidance directly says a traveller holding the required Migration invitation may obtain the visa at a Turkmen airport and enter.

    • Applies to a Japanese citizen travelling on an ordinary passport for a short visit under the Japan-specific mission process.
    • Before travel, obtain an invitation issued through the State Migration Service; tourists apply through a qualifying travel company and carriers may require the invitation before boarding.
    • The visa itself is issued at a Turkmen airport. Land-border issuance, work, residence, special documents, restricted areas and final admission remain outside scope.
