EU and Schengen ordinary passports: visa-free entry

The current MFA entry page directly exempts nationals of EU Member States and Schengen signatories from an entry visa.

    • The MFA additionally permits these nationals to enter with a valid national identity card; this policy records the ordinary-passport relationship only.
    • A qualifying EU/Schengen residence permit or multiple-entry Schengen C visa can create a separate 15-day route for other travellers. A temporary 2026 decision creates a similar document-conditioned route for qualifying multiple-entry US, UK or Canadian visas. Neither route expands this nationality cohort.
    • Document validity, purpose, funds, registration, public-order and final-admission requirements remain applicable; work, residence and special travel documents are outside this policy.
