How this access rule is documented

  1. Current official routeVisa required

Other ordinary passports require a short-stay visa

Japan requires these non-exempt ordinary-passport nationalities to obtain a visa before a short visitor stay.

    • This classification covers short stays up to 90 days for tourism, business, or visits without remunerative activity.
    • Japan's eVisa is a residence-, purpose-, travel-mode-, and sometimes agency-conditioned application route rather than universal nationality eligibility.
    • Work, long stay, residence, transit, diplomatic, official, refugee, stateless, and special-document treatment remain outside this policy.

  2. Apply on the official service or through an accredited agency where required.
