How this access rule is documented

  1. Current official routeVisa required

Other directly modelled ordinary foreign passports require a Taiwan visitor visa

These ordinary foreign passports are outside BOCA's current exemption and nationality-wide eVisa lists, so Taiwan's Visa Statute requires a valid visa.

    • The default applies to a foreign passport or travel document recognized or accepted by ROC authorities; it does not establish stateless, refugee, emergency, temporary, diplomatic, official, service, residence, or other special-document treatment.
    • A short visit generally uses a visitor visa; its validity, entries, permitted stay, and documents depend on nationality, purpose, passport type, and individual circumstances.
    • Purpose-specific invitation, tour, event, and business eVisa routes are not treated as nationality-wide eVisa access.
    • MOFA and NIA retain document, security, public-order, purpose, support, health, criminal-history, and admission review.
