Brunei: Category A and B ordinary passports require advance visa
The live MFA country schedule assigns these ordinary passports to Categories A or B; both categories expressly require a visa through a Brunei mission abroad.

- The FAQ distinguishes short/social, business and professional visit visas. Business and professional visits require a Brunei registered/government-linked sponsor application, and employment needs the appropriate visa and employment pass before arrival.
- E-Arrival Card registration is an arrival declaration and does not replace the required visa. Transit is separately limited to a 72-hour transit pass with onward ticket and airline sponsor/guarantor; it is not normalized as a visitor route.
- Valid recognised passport, six-month validity, fees, duration, entry count, documentary criteria and individual admissibility remain subject to the competent authorities. Diplomatic, official, service, residence and special-document arrangements are excluded.
