    Listed ICAO-compliant ePassports are visa-exempt

    Japan exempts these nationalities only when the traveller holds an ICAO-compliant ePassport.

    • The ePassport condition began on the nationality-specific dates published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • A traveller without the required ePassport must obtain a visa in advance and may otherwise be refused entry.
    • The normal landing-permission period is 90 days.
