India: other non-exempt ordinary passports require a regular visa in advance
Current Immigration and Foreigners Rules require an appropriate valid visa for foreign passports unless an express exemption applies; these nationalities are absent from the current eVisa eligibility list and ordinary-passport exemptions documented here.
- The current rule requires an appropriate valid visa for foreign passport holders unless an express exemption applies; the central portal distinguishes regular/paper visa from limited-category eVisa.
- Complete the online regular-visa form, then print/sign it and submit the passport and supporting documents to the relevant Indian mission or visa application center.
- Do not use this policy for holders of an OCI/eOCI card, SAARC Visa Exemption/Visa Liberalisation Scheme endorsements, diplomatic/official/service passports, transit, crew, residence, work, protected/restricted-area travel, security or admission exceptions.
