Mauritania: reciprocal-agreement ordinary-passport short-stay visa exemption
ANRPTS and the Foreign Affairs Ministry currently list reciprocal visa-suppression agreements that support ordinary-passport short visits for this 11-country foreign cohort. The ANRPTS list is used because it is the directly competent current visitor procedure; it is corroborated by the Foreign Affairs list.
- The policy applies only to ordinary passports from the named reciprocal-agreement countries for a short visit. It does not extend Morocco, Syria, Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, Romania, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, China, Iran or India, whose listed agreements are limited to diplomatic, service or official passports.
- ANRPTS's visitor procedure lists all eleven countries. A current APIM investment-information page lists only Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Libya, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Tunisia, omitting Burkina Faso, Chad and Guinea-Bissau. The direct ANRPTS and Foreign Affairs schedules are given precedence; this unresolved official-source discrepancy requires periodic review.
- The APIM summary says short stays are up to 90 days. Passport validity, border examination, security, health, purpose, work, residence, transit, diplomatic, service, UN and other special-document rules remain outside this ordinary visitor policy.
