How this access rule is documented

  1. Current official routeVisa required

Other foreign ordinary passports: Senegal advance consular visa

Senegal's current detailed consular schedule states that Category B requires a visa without mandatory Interior consultation, Category C requires prior Interior authorisation, and every passport absent from the lists follows Category C. This is an explicit complete advance-visa default, not inference from application availability.

    • Category B still requires a visa but has optional Interior consultation. Category C requires an authorisation of entry issued after application to the Ministry of the Interior; passports absent from all lists are expressly subject to the same Category C conditions.
    • The consular authority says the visa is issued by Senegalese diplomatic or consular authorities. This supports visa_required rather than evisa, visa_on_arrival or ETA; no current official source reviewed establishes a nationality-wide electronic or airport-issuance visitor alternative for this residual cohort.
    • Required materials vary by category but include passport validity of at least six months, visa form, photos, return/onward or repatriation evidence, accommodation and health documentation. Category C applicants are advised to apply two months in advance.
    • The current Foreign Ministry overview, retained from the 2015 regime, lists a materially broader visa-free cohort (including many European and other passports) than the detailed Category A/B/C page. The latter is used because it contains the post-2025 AES treatment and explicit Category C default; the conflict is a material review risk.
    • Work, residence, study, transit, refugee, diplomatic, official, service and official-mission exceptions are excluded. Issuance and entry remain subject to individual security, health and immigration assessment.
