How this access rule is documented

  1. ETA

United Kingdom ETA nationalities from April 2025

These European passport holders require an ETA for qualifying short visitor travel to the United Kingdom.

    • Irish citizens are outside this cohort, and Vatican City has separate Holy See document exceptions.
    • The route covers qualifying visitor stays up to six months and approval does not guarantee entry.
    • Valid UK permission, specified British statuses, and lawful Irish residence with Common Travel Area travel can remove the ETA requirement.
    • Airside transit and travel through border control have separate rules.
