    Burundian ordinary passports: Kosovo advance short-stay visa

    Kosovo's current closed visa-exemption list does not include Burundi, and its Foreign Ministry requires other foreign nationals to use the in-person diplomatic or consular visa process before a visit.

    • Submit the short-stay visa application in person to the relevant Kosovo diplomatic or consular mission no later than three months before the intended visit. Burundi is not in the current official exemption list, and no listed special-category exemption is inferred here.
    • This is an advance consular route, not an eVisa or nationality-wide visa-on-arrival route. Residence, work, transit, special documents, carrier requirements and final admission remain separate.

    Other foreign ordinary passports: advance consular visa required

    For these ordinary passports, Kosovo's MFA gives an express visa-required complement and requires an in-person application to the relevant diplomatic or consular mission before a visit or transit.

    • The MFA's express complement, not mere omission from a list, supports this baseline. The application must be submitted in person to the relevant Kosovo diplomatic or consular mission; no eVisa, ETA, or nationality-wide arrival-visa route is established.
    • The published process requires an original application, travel document, purpose, accommodation or means, insurance, and other supporting evidence. Possession of a visa does not automatically confer entry.
    • A valid biometric Schengen residence permit or valid multiple-entry Schengen visa can create a separate 15-day document-conditioned exemption. It does not change this passport-only baseline.
    • Russia is expressly excluded from that Schengen-document exception by the Gazette decision. Diplomatic, official, refugee, stateless, UN/NATO/OSCE/EU travel-document, identity-card, residence, work, and transit-specific routes are outside this classification.

How to apply

Apply in person no later than three months before the visit; the page publishes no decision-time promise.

  1. Apply in person to the relevant Kosovo diplomatic or consular mission.
  2. Submit the completed original application, travel document, purpose and accommodation or means evidence, insurance, and other requested documents.
  3. Receive the visa decision before travel; possession of a visa does not automatically confer entry.
