Colombia: other ordinary passports require an electronic Visitor visa
Ordinary-passport nationalities outside the current unconditional and conditional short-stay exemptions must obtain Colombia's electronic Visitor visa before travel.
- A separate visa-free exception may apply to a qualifying permanent resident of a Pacific Alliance or Andean Community state, or under a current bilateral agreement; nationality alone does not establish those status-based routes.
- The Foreign Ministry conducts study, processing and issuance virtually and sends the approved electronic visa to the registered email address; it may require original documents, an interview or, when it considers necessary, a printed passport label.
- Short stays cover qualifying non-remunerated activities such as tourism, leisure, business, events or cultural interest; paid services, salary or wages in Colombia require a visa with the appropriate permission.
- The normal short-stay period is less than 90 days and may be extendable up to 180 days when the applicable rules permit it.
- Admission remains discretionary and subject to a valid travel document, onward travel, funds, purpose, immigration control and any health, security or individual-admissibility requirements.
- Does not classify transit, work, study, residence, diplomatic, official, service, refugee, stateless, emergency, laissez-passer, national-identity-card or other special-document routes.
