    Northern Mariana Islands: PRC CNMI EVS-TAP authorization

    The live CBP G-CNMI portal expressly provides a CNMI EVS-TAP electronic authorization route for PRC citizens visiting the CNMI for 14 days or less.

    • This is a CNMI-only electronic authorization route for PRC citizens, for business or pleasure stays of 14 days or less; it does not establish entry to Guam or other U.S. destinations.
    • The live portal requires application, passport and eligibility information before travel; approval does not guarantee admission.
    • The State Department page's older Form I-736 wording conflicts operationally with the current electronic CBP portal; no route is inferred for PRC passports to Guam.
    • Residence, work, transit, crew, diplomatic, official, special-document, security and admissibility rules remain outside this policy.

    Northern Mariana Islands: PRC CNMI EVS-TAP

    Current 8 CFR 212.1(r) establishes CNMI EVS-TAP as a restricted pre-travel electronic authorization sub-program for PRC nationals, so the short-visitor route is normalized as eta.

    • Before embarking, the PRC national must receive CBP electronic authorization, be a business/pleasure visitor, use an ICAO-compliant PRC machine-readable passport and hold the required round-trip ticket and I-94.
    • Entry and stay are CNMI-only for no more than 14 days; it is neither admission to Guam nor ordinary U.S. entry. No extension or change of status is available; residence, work, transit, crew, parole, diplomatic, official, special-document and final-admission routes are outside this policy.

  1. Create the CNMI EVS-TAP authorization application before travel.
  2. Provide passport, identity, contact, travel and eligibility information.
  3. Travel only after authorization and request admission in the CNMI.
