    Vietnam: Resolution 229 twelve-country 45-day tourism waiver

The twelve named nationalities remain visa-exempt for tourism for 45 days from entry under Resolution 229. The former 30-day re-entry interval does not apply; six-month passport validity and legal admission conditions remain.

    • Resolution 229 Article 1 names Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland. It expressly requires tourism purpose, regardless of passport type; this record covers ordinary tourist visitors, not an all-purpose exemption.
    • Unilateral visa-exemption entrants need at least six months of remaining passport validity and must not fall within Article 21 entry-refusal grounds, under Article 20 of the foreigner-entry law.
    • The former general 30-day interval after the previous departure was removed by the Article 20 amendment effective 1 July 2020. The Ministry's express explanation and the 2026 consolidated law establish removal, not merely omission from a visa table. Every entry remains subject to admission checks; no automatic extension or unrestricted repeated-entry entitlement is asserted.
    • Article 2 sets the policy window from 15 August 2025 through 14 August 2028. Article 3 ends the earlier Resolution 11 Poland/Czechia/Switzerland pilot from 15 August 2025; its package-tour confirmation condition is not carried into Resolution 229's replacement tourism waiver.
    • Passport validity, the 45-day permitted stay and the resolution's policy window are separate. Employment, residence, diplomatic/official privileges, transit, crew, special documents and individual security/admissibility rules are outside this ordinary tourism baseline.
