One group agreement or destination policy can support many passport relationships. Dates are recorded only when an official source establishes them.

Bahrain: GCC citizens do not need an entry visa

The Bahrain National Portal expressly exempts citizens of Kuwait, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar from Bahrain’s entry-visa requirement.

    • Applies to citizenship of the five named GCC states, not merely residence in a GCC state.
    • The National Portal says other nationalities require an entry visa; this is not a visa-on-arrival, ETA, or eVisa.
    • NPRA separately offers electronic visas to GCC residents who meet its status and document conditions; that route does not alter the named GCC citizen exemption.
    • Same-flight or same-airport transit is separately visa-free under the Bahrain AIP and is outside this ordinary visitor classification.
    • Does not classify work, residence, family sponsorship, transit requiring entry, crew, diplomatic, official, service, UN, emergency, refugee, or other special-document entry.

    Bahrain: citizenship treatment

A Bahraini ordinary passport belongs to a Bahraini citizen and is not a foreign visitor-visa case.

    • Applies to Bahraini citizens holding a Bahraini ordinary passport.
    • Does not decide foreign residence, dual-national document choice, or foreign visitor treatment.

Bahrain: named online-eligible ordinary passports with eVisa route

For these previously unsupported passport rows whose snapshot already records eVisa, NPRA's live country list names the country as online-eligible and its process page confirms an NPRA-reviewed online visa issuance workflow.

    • This policy is confined to ordinary-passport rows that were previously unsupported and already normalized as eVisa in the snapshot. The live online list names the corresponding countries, but says terms and conditions apply and directs a traveller to country-specific eligibility; it does not establish an unconditional exemption or a special-passport rule.
    • The portal describes a genuine pre-travel electronic-visa workflow: the traveller completes the online eligibility and application flow, uploads documents, pays, undergoes NPRA processing, and receives approval notification. It is not merely an arrival-registration form.
    • Passport validity, funds, accommodation, return/onward travel, sponsor, prior-document, residence, GCC-status, profession, purpose, fee, duration, entry-count, security, sanctions, and final-admission conditions remain traveller- and visa-type-specific. They were not exposed as a reproducible code-level crosswalk in this review.
    • The separately promoted GCC-citizenship exemption, Bahrain citizenship, GCC-resident eVisa, family, work, residence, transit, crew, diplomatic, official, service, UN, emergency, refugee, and other special-document routes are not classified by this policy. Border officers retain final admission authority.

  4. Current official routeVisa required

Bahrain: Iran, North Korea, and Kosovo ordinary passports requiring advance visa

Iran, North Korea, and Kosovo are not named in either live NPRA online or on-arrival country schedule. Bahrain's National Portal expressly gives the residual rule that a non-on-arrival country needs an entry visa issued in advance through an embassy, sponsor, or travel agency.

    • This is the National Portal's explicit advance-issuance residual for nationalities outside the on-arrival schedule, read with the current online and on-arrival country schedules. It is not inferred from a commercial passport index or from a failed application.
    • The cited schedules do not name these three catalog passport codes. The National Portal describes advance issuance through a Bahrain embassy in the country of residence, a Bahraini sponsor, or a travel agency; it does not establish a nationality-wide self-service eVisa route for them.
    • This policy does not decide any resident-, GCC-status-, third-country-document-, invitation-, work-, residence-, transit-, diplomatic-, official-, service-, refugee-, emergency-, or special-document exception. Visa issuance, security screening, sanctions, carrier checks, and final admission remain applicable.

  5. Current official routeVisa on arrival

Bahrain: named ordinary passports eligible for visa on arrival

The live NPRA Visa portal expressly names this exact residual cohort on its Countries Eligible to Get Visa on-Arrival list. The same nationalities also appear on the distinct online-visa list, but the available border-issued route controls this normalized visitor-access status.

    • Applies to a traveller holding the named nationality's own ordinary passport for a visitor entry; the FAQ requires each applicant to provide an individual passport.
    • The public NPRA Visa country lists separately label these nationalities as eligible online and eligible on arrival. This policy normalizes the directly available border-issued route as visa_on_arrival rather than treating optional online processing as the only route.
    • The arrival list says terms and conditions apply. The FAQ says a traveller must meet all conditions on arrival and entry remains at the Immigration Officer's discretion.
    • Visa type, duration, fees, extension, work, residence, study, transit, crew, diplomatic, official, service, emergency, refugee, stateless, and individual security/admissibility treatment remain outside this nationality-level visitor rule.
